Daxxify® is a neuromodulator which consists of botulinum toxin Type A with an added peptide. The addition of the peptide stabilizes the core neurotoxin while enhancing its attachment. No animal or human byproducts are used (vegan).

Daxxify® is FDA approved for the treatment of glabellar lines on the face (the vertical lines between the forehead). Daxxify® can be injected into other regions, but this is considered to be an “off label” use of the medication.

Daxxify® is injected with small needles into the muscles of the forehead. Most patients tolerate the treatment well without anesthetic, but topical anesthetic and ice can be used if needed for comfort.

The onset of action of Daxxify® may be as early as the same day, but typically occurs within 2 days.

Daxxify® may last up to six months following injection. Its effects do not disappear suddenly, but instead it gradually softens with time.

Some reported side effects of Daxxify® include headaches, eyelid ptosis (droop), and facial paresis.

Daxxify® has been reported to improve skin texture in addition to softening glabellar lines on the face.
